It applies to the Website, to our contact, newsletter and careers forms, and to our communications with visitors, prospective clients and job applicants. Work we do for clients under a separate agreement is covered by that agreement.

Information from other sources
We do not intentionally buy personal data about visitors. If you contact us through a third-party platform (for example LinkedIn or email), we receive the information you send us there.
2. How we use information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide information about our services.
- To run, secure, maintain and improve the Website, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To understand how visitors use the Website through analytics.
- To send updates or newsletters if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the message.

- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms and protect our rights.
3. Legal bases (where GDPR or similar laws apply)
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for example newsletters and non-essential cookies); our legitimate interests (running and securing the Website, responding to enquiries, understanding usage); taking steps at your request before entering into a contract; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Cookies, analytics and spam protection
We use third-party web analytics tools to measure traffic and understand how the Website is used, and automated anti-spam and bot-protection services to protect our forms and systems. These services may set cookies or receive technical data such as your IP address. See the Cookie Policy for the categories of cookies we use and how to manage them.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that act on our behalf, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics and security providers, email and newsletter delivery providers (if you subscribe), and the recruitment tools we use to manage applications (if you apply for a role).
- Professional advisers, auditors and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
- A successor organization if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice where required.
If we introduce advertising or affiliate programs on the Website, we will update this policy and our Affiliate and Third-Party Links Policy and Cookie Policy before doing so.
6. Connected-account data
Some ABCSoft tools and services can connect to a third-party account (for example an email, calendar or file-storage account) only after the account owner explicitly authorizes access through the account provider’s consent screen. When we handle user data obtained through a provider’s APIs:
- Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We request only the access needed for the features the account owner has asked for, and we use the data only to provide or improve those user-facing features.
- We do not sell this data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- We do not allow people to read this data unless the account owner has given consent for specific items, it is necessary for security or to investigate abuse, it is needed to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
- Access can be withdrawn at any time in the security settings of your account with the provider, and you can ask us to delete data we hold by contacting us.
7. Use of AI tools
We may use AI-assisted tools to help draft replies, summarize documents or organize work. We do not use personal data that you send us through the Website to train public AI models. Where we process client or personal data with AI tools for a client project, the terms of the client agreement apply.
8. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses offered by our providers.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including to respond to you, to keep business and legal records, and to resolve disputes. Job applications are kept while a recruitment process is open and afterward for a reasonable period unless you ask us to delete them earlier. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics provider.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, such as access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and regular updates. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Residents of some US states, including California, may also have the right to know what we collect, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are commonly defined. To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
12. Children
The Website is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Links to other websites
The Website may link to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.
14. Changes to this policy
